The interest for vegetable foods increases, not only in restaurants but also in takeaway: to reveal it are Just Eat and Uber Eats, which have experienced a considerable increase in orders of vegan, vegetarian and superfood dishes. In
general, it is expected that 2021 will be the year of “healthy” and sustainable cuisine.
After the impact that veganism has had on restaurant menus, today even takeway is increasingly vegan
Vegan and healthy food stands out among the food trends of 2021 in the United Kingdom: to reveal it is a report published by Just Eat Observatory, which has identified the next trends in food delivery.
Because of the pandemic, many people have opted for a healthier and more sustainable diet, which has consequently led to an increase in consumption of plant-based alternatives, considered healthier than the animal counterpart.
According to Just Eat, in 2021 this trend will also be consolidated in delivery, leading to a real boom in healthy cuisine, with particular attention to vegan dishes, superfoods, and seasonal products.
The data tell us that in the last 6 months of 2020, the demand for vegan dishes has increased by 90%;
A growth made possible also thanks to the response of restaurants, which are adapting their production to customers needs: not only are more and more conventional restaurants that include healthy proposals in their menus, but even
more important is the increase of the premises specialized in the “healthy” diet.
In Uber’s annual report, some of the trendiest foods of the year gone by, (and trendy foods for the year ahead), are VEGAN!
Uber Eats’ data shows that people are ordering more “clean eating” dishes like tofu and seitan and edible flowers, along with fermented foods like kimchi and kombucha and dairy-free milk.
So it looks like 2021 is going to be the year of clean, green plant-powered cuisine!
